A 35-year-old Blaine man is facing three felony charges after police say he threatened a resident, fired shots at a vehicle outside a Blaine home, and then fled in a black Hummer before being arrested.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Anoka County District Court, Kyle Alan Florey is accused of making violent threats over text messages following an argument on the messaging platform Discord. The recipient, identified in court filings as T.C., told officers that Florey threatened to shoot him and said he was on his way to the victim’s residence on October 7, 2025.
Surveillance Footage and Eyewitness Accounts
Witnesses described hearing loud banging on a door and seeing a man exit a Hummer before pulling a handgun and firing near a sedan parked in the driveway. One neighbor, identified as E.H., reported that the suspect also kicked the vehicle before fleeing. Another witness, J.P., told officers she saw the man point a firearm at the car and then pound on the victim’s front door.
Security footage reviewed by investigators corroborated these accounts. Video captured Florey outside the residence, yelling, “That’s what I thought, you little bitch. Come outside,” before pacing and firing multiple rounds. Officers said the Hummer could be seen pulling into the driveway twice, with more loud bangs audible before the vehicle left the area.
Arrest and Evidence
Police located a Hummer matching the description nearby and arrested Florey. A search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded Springfield 911 handgun under the driver’s seat. Officers also recovered a spent .380 casing at the scene. After being read his Miranda rights, Florey allegedly admitted to “popping off a round towards the ground” and acknowledged he had made a “bad decision”.
Felony Charges
Prosecutors charged Florey with:
- Drive-by shooting toward an unoccupied motor vehicle or building (felony, punishable by up to three years in prison and a $6,000 fine).
- Reckless discharge of a firearm within a municipality (felony, up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine).
- Threats of violence—reckless disregard risk (felony, up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine).
Court Proceedings
Florey appeared in Anoka County District Court, where Judge Jennifer Stanfield ordered him detained pending further proceedings.
A conditional release order filed days later noted restrictions on contact, possession of weapons, and use of alcohol or controlled substances if release were to be granted.
An omnibus hearing is scheduled for November 3, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. before Judge Sean C. Gibbs in Anoka County District Court.
